Mob Clearing Guide and Stun Rotation
Mob clearing is one of the most important parts of Avalonian Elite Dungeons. Bosses are dangerous, but many groups lose more time and silver to bad mob pulls than to boss fights. The key to clean mob clearing is coordinated crowd control, proper clumping and disciplined damage timing.
Avalonian mob group often include enemies that cast dangerous abilities, resist displacement or punish poor positioning. A good party does not simply rush into packs and hope to out-heal the damage. Instead, the group uses a stun rotation to lock mobs down long enough for DPS players to kill them safely.
Core Avalonian Stun Rotation
The standard stun rotation uses Great Arcane, Hammer and 1h Arcane in a controlled sequence:
Great Arcane → Hammer Stun → 1h Arcane → Great Arcane → Hammer Stun → 1h Arcane
When performed correctly, this rotation keeps mobs controlled for a long enough window that the DPS can kill or heavily damage the pack before dangerous abilities become a problem.
The rotation only works if each player understands their timing. Casting too early can waste control duration. Casting too late can allow mobs to use abilities and break the pull. The caller should keep the rotation consistent so the Arcane players, Hammer Tank, supports and DPS know exactly when to act.
Why Great Arcane Timing Matters
Great Arcane is one of the most important tools in Avalonian mob clearing. Its Time Freeze creates the first major control window, but it also affects when other support abilities should be used.
Players using resistance-reduction effects must understand that these effects should be timed properly around the Great Arcane window. Realmbreaker, Shadowcaller, Armor Piercer and Incubus abilities are all examples of tools that can lose value if used at the wrong time.
For clean execution, the caller should clearly call when the Hammer stun begins or when the Great Arcane window ends. This helps support players apply resistance shred at the correct moment instead of wasting important damage amplification.
Diminishing Returns on Crowd Control
Crowd control in Albion Online is affected by diminishing returns. If a target is stunned repeatedly, later stuns become shorter. This means a group cannot rely on endless stun spam to control Avalonian mobs.
The advantage of the Avalonian stun rotation is that it uses different types of control. Stuns, silence effects and other control categories can be rotated to extend the overall safety window. This is why the sequence matters more than random crowd control usage.
If the Hammer, Arcane and silence timings are used without discipline, the group may lose control too early and allow mobs to cast. If the timing is clean, the party gets a long and predictable damage window.
When DPS Should Start Attacking
DPS players should be ready before the pull begins, but they should not always attack instantly. The group needs the mobs clumped and controlled first. Once the Great Arcane lands and the pack is locked down, DPS players should quickly move into their damage rotation.
Slow DPS reaction causes a different problem. If damage starts too late, mobs may survive the stun rotation and begin casting after the control window ends. In Avalonian Dungeons, clean damage timing is just as important as high Item Power.
Common Mistakes During Mob Clearing
- Using resistance shred too early during the Great Arcane window.
- Starting DPS before mobs are properly clumped.
- Reacting too slowly after the first control lands.
- Overlapping stuns too heavily and wasting duration.
- Using Time Freeze on mobs that are already casting uninterruptible abilities.
- Failing to reset when a pull has fully broken apart.
Most failed pulls come from poor timing, not from lack of damage. The cleaner the rotation, the less healing and defensive recovery the group needs.
Damage Reduction During Pulls
Damage reduction is used to protect the group when mobs begin auto-attacking or when a pull does not go perfectly. Guardian Armor and similar defensive tools can reduce incoming pressure and give healers enough time to stabilize the party.
The Hammer Tank or caller should know when defensive cooldowns are needed. In many pulls, damage reduction should be used during the first silence or control gap, when mobs may begin attacking players who have generated threat.
In higher-tier Avalonian Dungeons, damage reduction can be the difference between a clean pull and multiple players being downed before the mobs die.
