Enchanting Items – Upgrading Equipment in Artifact Foundry
Enchanting items is used to increase the power of a player’s items (IP – Item Power). Increasing an item’s power improves its passive attributes, such as maximum health and mana, along with their regeneration, crowd control resistances, and more. Enchanting items also boosts the strength of both defensive and offensive abilities provided by your equipment. This process can be carried out at the Artifact Foundry, and you can further increase an item’s power by improving its quality with silver at the Repair Station.
Consumable items, such as potions and food, do not scale with item power but instead benefit from enchanting, which makes their effects stronger than those of their non-enchanted versions. Enchanting these items takes place during their production at the appropriate crafting stations, such as the Cook and the Alchemist Lab. Food uses Fish Sauce for enchanting, while potions require Arcane Extract.
It may be worth considering upgrading equipment as an additional way to earn silver or save money. Instead of buying a pre-enchanted item, you can enchant it yourself—as long as you have the required components, anyone can do it. Keep in mind that the higher the item’s tier and enchantment level, the higher its repair cost will be.
Player Item Enchanting Requirements – Upgrading Equipment
Enchanting weapons and armor requires runes, souls, and relics. The same applies to gathering gear. Items of each tier require corresponding materials of the same tier. Below, x represents the item’s tier.
Enchanting from x.0 to x.1 requires runes.
Enchanting from x.1 to x.2 requires souls.
Enchanting from x.2 to x.3 requires relics.
Enchanting to x.4 is only possible during the item’s crafting process.
Number of Materials Required for Enchanting
- 288 for one-handed weapons
- 384 for two-handed weapons
- 192 for armor and bags
- 96 for helmets, boots, capes, and off-hand items
Results of Item Enchanting
Each enchantment level adds 100 Item Power (IP). Enchantments are marked with a suffix after the tier level: x.1, x.2, x.3, x.4.
For example, 5.1 indicates a Tier 5 rare item.
Exceptions Related to Item Enchanting
Mounts, furniture, decorations, and other building-related items cannot be enchanted, even though such items exist visually. In these cases, the enchantment-like effect is purely cosmetic. A mount’s item power is based solely on its tier and quality.
Potions of Tier 4 and above can only be enchanted up to rare quality (x.3). Elixirs can be improved only during crafting using Arcane Extract.
Food can be enchanted only up to epic quality (x.3). Just like elixirs, it can only be enhanced during its crafting process using fish sauce.
All other equipment items can be enchanted and crafted in enchanted versions using refined gathering materials, but only if the item is at least Tier 4.
Base Item Power Table for All Enchantable Items
The table below shows the item power values. There are several categories of items not previously mentioned but still present in the table.
For example, tools cannot be enchanted, yet the table still includes them with their base item power at enchantment level x.0.
In the table, every item that does not require artifacts to craft is treated as a Regular item in the context of enchanting. The exception is Avalonian Tools, which are also treated as Regular, because Avalonian Energy is not considered an artifact in the game.

In Guild Hideouts, the Artifact Foundry becomes available only after upgrading the hideout to level 3, which costs 150–180 million silver.
Repair Costs of Enchanted Items
Using higher-tier items with higher enchantment levels always increases the repair cost at the repair station.
Due to the item’s value, this increase is the same for every additional 100 Item Power, regardless of whether it comes from a higher tier or from an enchantment level.
For example, Tier 8 equipment has the same repair cost as Tier 7.1, 6.2, 5.3, and 4.4 items.
The exception is Artifact Items, whose value increases with the artifact tier. Little bit more with Crystal and Avalonian Shards.
Item quality does not affect repair costs. Even legendary-quality equipment, which provides an additional 100 IP, does not increase the repair fee.
Repair costs increase linearly as the item loses durability. You can check the exact value by hovering the cursor over the durability percentage.
Additional Notes
If the gold-to-silver exchange rate continues to inflate significantly, it’s possible that the developers will once again increase the required number of runes, souls, and relics needed for enchanting—just as they did in the Queen update.
Most of the PvE and PvP builds we recommend include various enchantment levels. Thanks to our experience, we know the optimal balance between item tier and enchantment level.
